The Coachella Valley RIFA
Program is responsible for the education and assistance of Coachella
Valley California residents and businesses in detecting,
identifying and treating RIFA infestations.
Red Imported Fire Ants are
an aggressive, stinging variety of red ant recently found in California.
These insects pose a health concern for people and pets as their mounds
can be found in all types of irrigated property, including: residences,
schools, parks, businesses and roadsides.
This site provides information
about RIFA in the Coachella Valley, treating ant stings and dealing
with ant infestations, treatment options to control and eradicate RIFA,
areas currently affected with these ants, informative RIFA news articles,
and a form for you to report possible Red Imported Fire Ants for identification
and treatment. We also feature original RIFA comic book sketches by
local artist Robert Padilla.
